د. كاثلين غوليوم

  • اهتمامات البحث العلمي:

Dr Kathleen Guillaume’s first diploma was a Joint Masters in French & International Relations from Aberdeen University and she later trained as a teacher at Edinburgh University, in her homeland, Scotland. She earned her PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Paris 7 and subsequently a Masters in EU Law from Leicester University. Dr Guillaume worked as a Translator & Interpreter in Scotland, France and New Zealand; served as an EU Law Consultant in France; and she has also taught Law, Linguistics & Languages in France, Russia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia & Sudan. These days her main interests lie in Neurolinguistics and student motivation.

Dr Guillaume came to Effat in 2007 and has served in various roles, beginning as Academic Vice Dean and, later, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences. She currently enjoys teaching all the Linguistics and Writing courses in the English & Translation Department, as well as on the MTI, Masters in Translation and Interpreting. A busy and enthusiastic course developer, Dr Guillaume recently wrote a Diploma in French, targeting mainly understanding and speaking, as well as specialized French for fashion & retail, tourism & hospitality, among others.​
