Effat University celebrates 20 years of Educational Achievement

Timeline

Effat University's Timeline

1975

Dar Al Hanan School, established in 1954, receives the area of the Khuzam Grounds to establish a new Dar Al Hanan campus.

1998

Permission to open private colleges in Saudi Arabia is granted, and Effat receives the first license.

1999

Effat College opens it’s doors, offering Computer Science and Early Childhood Education majors.

2000

Effat adds Information Systems, Psychology, and English & Translation programs.

2001

Career Development Office established.

Queen Effat Citizenship Award created, honoring students who demonstrate Queen Effat’s holistic vision of education.

2003

Effat celebrates its first graduating class!

2004

Effat College of Business established, initially as Effat Business Administration Department.

2005

Our Architecture major is the first of its kind for women in Saudi Arabia.

2006

Effat delivers first ever engineering program for women in the KSA, with launch of Electrical & Computer Engineering degree.

2007

Effat’s Child Development Center is introduced.

2009

Effat achieves university status!

Effat Advisory Board founded.

Effat College of Engineering and Effat College of Humanities & Social Sciences are officially established.

2010

The Effat Business Administration Department officially becomes Effat College of Business.

The University and 4 programs receive NCAA accreditation.

2014

Effat College of Architecture & Design officially opens its doors.

2015

Effat Library and Cultural Museum opening.

2016

Virtual Reality Lab opens.

Effat wins King Abdulaziz Quality Award.

2017

Our introduction of a Master of Science in Energy Engineering is yet again the first of its kind for females in Saudi Arabia.

The University and 4 programs are re-accredited by NCAAA.

2018

Opening of Effat’s Positive Psychology and Wellbeing Research Lab – the first of its kind in the Kingdom!

Effat is now ranked as one of the top 100 universities in the Arab world. We’ve achieved this thanks to the dedication and persistence of our faculty, staff and students. Well done all!
