In collaboration with University College Cork in Ireland and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in Egypt, AUGI was introduced as the first-ever hybrid interaction and mixed reality experience to be presented in an Egyptian museum. This project, which was an integral part of Mirhan's master’s thesis, was showcased at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). An innovative augmented reality (AR) treasure hunt was introduced, bringing cultural heritage to life.
During International Museum Day, visitors engaged with this immersive experience, marking a significant milestone in blending tradition and cutting-edge technology in Egypt. Feedback gathered during the 'Live Engagement Phase' of the AUGI product development showcased the potential of XR and gamification in museums to revolutionize cultural education and engagement.
