Effat English Academy Program (EEA) aims to develop the English language skills of students who do not meet the English language requirements for direct admission into the university's undergraduate or postgraduate programs. The admission requirements are 5.5 in IELTS for the undergraduate programs and 6 in IELTS for postgraduate programs. This eight-level program is designed to consolidate and develop the students' four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. It integrates the four systems of English: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and functional usage, as well as projects and computer-based exercises into each level. The EEA Program aims to help students develop their study skills, critical thinking, ethics and self-discipline necessary for success in their university majors and future careers.
The first five levels of the program aim to develop the English language skills of students who do not meet the English language requirements for direct admission into the university's undergraduate programs. After completing these levels, students will have the English language proficiency and the study skills required for their undergraduate degrees at Effat University. Thus, these levels bridge the gap between secondary and higher education and represent the Preparatory Year for the undergraduate programs at Effat University.
In addition, Levels 3-5 are designed to improve the language skills of students who do not meet the English language requirements for direct admission into the university's postgraduate programs.
Levels 6-8 are offered on demand for those who wish to further improve their language skills in areas such as Academic Writing and/or Global English with intercultural competence. The program also offers an IELTS preparation course.
The eight levels of the EEA Program are Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Advanced, Academic Skills and Language, Global English & Intercultural Competence and Academic Writing.
Upon admission, students will be placed in the EEA Program levels based on their scores in the Linguaskill placement tests.
