Nema Salem is Assistant Professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Effat University. She received her PhD degree, in 1996, in EE via channel system between Alexandria University, Egypt and Calgary University, Canada titled “Classification of Breast Tumors by Acutance Measure and Shape Factors". She received her M.Sc. degree, in 1990, in EE from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt titled “Processing of Biomedical Signals: Mitral Valve Diagnosis". She received her BSc in 1987, in EE, Electronics and Communication section, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt.
She is working in the EE Department, Alexandria University since 1987 and taught many courses at the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, and Alexandria Higher Institute of Engineering & Technology. She worked at Hadramout University, Yemen as a full-time faculty for one academic year. She joined Effat University as a full-time faculty member at ECE Department since 2008. She was the chair of the ECE department for one academic year.
She supervised many capstone projects, master and PhD theses and published many papers in international conferences and journals. She got many awards and appreciations from different places.
She is teaching giftedness and talented high-school female students since 2011. She organizes many events at Effat University as the Science and Engineering Fair and participates in Learning and Technology Conference. She participated in NCAAA and ABET accreditation for the departmental and institutional levels. She participated in updating ECE curriculum, preparing master of energy curriculum, and reviewing other curriculums. She is a chair/member of many committees at the departmental/college/university levels.
