The University Council is the most important internal governing body that handles all the administrative, academic, educational, and research affairs of the University. The University Council, which is headed by the University President, is composed of the Provost as Vice-Chair of the Council as well as Academic Deans, Deans of Supportive Deanships, Directors of Institutes and three faculty members that represent the voice of the faculty. A student representative is also invited regularly to the monthly meetings of the University Council to present the students' voice. A Secretary General is nominated every year by the UC members and is supported by two UC assistants. The President effectively manages the institution through the University Council to fulfill the University's strategic goals to achieve its mission.
