    How long will it take to finish my degree?

    Depending on the major, the number of credit hours for degree completion varies depending on the major, and ranges from 128-171 credit hours. Therefore, the students are expected to spend between 8 and 10 semesters (excluding summer semesters) in order to graduate.

    What level of English is required to study at Effat University?

    Effat University offers a foundation program if the applicant did not achieve the minimum scores in the TOFEL or IELTS test.  She will be admitted to Foundation 1 and 2 (two semesters) or Foundation 2 only (one semester). She will enroll in the college level after successfully passing the foundation program.

    Can non-Saudi enroll at Effat University?

    Yes, all nationalities are welcome to join Effat University.

    I graduated from non-Saudi high school. Will I be accepted?

    Effat University accepts qualified high school graduates from a variety of backgrounds and school systems as well as transfers if they meet the admission criteria. Please visit Effat University admission.

    Are there Scholarships available?

    A limited number of full and partial merit-based scholarship are available each semester. Academic scholarship competitions are held periodically, to select recipients of available scholarships.

    Are transportation services available?

    Transportation services to and from university are available based on home location.

    Rules for transfer students?

    Effat University accepts transfers from other colleges and universities under the following conditions:

    • The student should be enrolled at a recognized university or college by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education
    • The student must not have been dismissed from that university for disciplinary reasons
    • All transfer applications are submitted to the Admissions & Academic Standing Committee which studies the application and ensures that the applicant fulfills the following requirements:
    • Transfer applicants have to have completed at least one semester of a minimum of 12 credits or more in a recognized institution of higher education
    • Transfer applicants should submit their transcript of record together with the syllabus and course descriptions for courses they seek to transfer.
    • Transferred Courses may be considered for transfer only if a grade of not less than C (70%) was obtained in the course.
    • The decision regarding which credits are awarded is made by the Admissions & Academic Standing Committee in consultation with the appropriate departments.
    • A maximum of all except 65 credit hours in each degree program will be accepted for transfer. Of those 65 credit hours, a minimum of 25 credit hours must be in the major.
    • Once accepted, the student has to fully withdraw from the previous college and has to submit the original High School Certificate to the Admissions office at Effat.

    Is the University accredited by the Saudi Ministry?

    Yes, it is licensed by the Ministry of Education (License number: 8/2/1430, 327/أ; Please visit the MOE web site and accredited by National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment.
