Program Overview
The Diploma in Arabic as a Foreign Language: Heritage, Culture and Civilization aims to enable the students to communicate effectively in Arabic and to introduce them to the Arab heritage, diverse cultures and civilization.
It focuses on enhancing the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The Diploma has four language levels ranging from elementary Arabic to Superior Arabic. After completing all levels, students are expected to complete two elective courses on culture, heritage, literature or civilization.
Educationbal objectives
The major objectives of the program are:
- To enable candidates to communicate effectively in Arabic and in particular in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- To promote the ability to assemble information and communicate ideas through the medium of Arabic;
- To cultivate an interest in contemporary Arabic art, history, and culture.

Knowledge and Understanding:

K1 - Acquire all the Arabic lexis specified by the program, including an understanding of the multiple meanings of words.

Skills:

S1 - Demonstrate comprehension of a broad range of reading texts.

S2 - Communicate effectively in spoken and written Arabic on both general and specialized topics.

S4 - Read texts in Arabic on a broad range of topics.

S5 - Deliver presentations on selected topics pertinent to the Arab world, its history, culture, literature, and current affairs.

Upon completion of the diploma, graduate of this program will possess the necessary skills to work as:
- Junior teachers of Arabic as a Foreign Language for beginners
- Junior writers or editors in magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc., or editorial boards
- In house/freelance translators and/or liaisons
- Bilingual personnel in multinational corporations and public relation agencies
- Junior writers/commentators on business and finance
- Arabic calligraphers
- Liaison officers in diplomatic missions
- Freelance writers
Graduates of this program will be equally qualified to join any undergraduate or postgraduate program that requires proficiency in Arabic.

- Students are required to pay their full tuition fee upon registration.
- Effat University reserves the right to withhold student services, including Blackboard and Banner access, from students who do not complete their due payment as per their payment plan or if their account status is delinquent.
- There are no installments allowed for any of the PACE-HIT programs (less than 5 weeks).
- In the event that the student chooses to pay in installments for the PACE-HIT programs (6 weeks and above).
