Effat University has the pleasure to announce hosting the

8th IET GCC Robotics challenge

"Healthcare Interactive Robotic System"

  Day: Monday, 21st October 2024
  Time: 8:00 am – 04:00 pm
  Location: Online

The IET GCC Robotics Challenge is an annual competition that aims to encourage undergraduate students and young professionals across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to build innovative robotic systems. The challenge is supported by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and its Robotics and Mechatronics Technical Network.

The competition has garnered significant interest from young professionals, engineers, IT specialists, and students studying engineering and technology. The goal is to inspire participants from the GCC countries (Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman) to design and build a robust robot that can meet pre-defined requirements within space and time constraints, leveraging their academic knowledge and technical skills.

In addition to the competition, the event provides an opportunity for experts and young engineers to gather, discuss, and promote recent advancements in robotics. The challenge aims to explore technological developments, achieve sustainable growth, and cultivate an innovative and well-informed generation.

The participating teams present their ideas and core concepts related to the defined task to a panel of judges. Overall, the IET GCC Robotics Challenge strives to encourage and support the growth of robotics and technology in the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

The competition consists of two phases:

  1. Local rounds across the GCC countries:

Teams from the six GCC nations (Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman) will compete in local rounds within their respective countries.
  2. Final round for winners from the local rounds:

The winning teams from the local rounds across the GCC will then proceed to the final round of the competition.

The 2024 edition Saudi local round of the IET-GCC Robotics Challenge will be held as an online event.

This annual event provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring roboticists and technologists in the Gulf Cooperation Council region to showcase their skills, innovative ideas, and robotic systems. The organizers are excited to see the creativity and technical expertise of the participants in the eighth edition of the IET-GCC Robotics Challenge.
