Program Overview

The Department of Computer Science at Effat University offers instruction in the theory, foundations, design, and application of digital computers, artificial intelligence, and cyber security systems. The department prepares students to be active participants in the information revolution, and to use computers in solving the problems of modern life using Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security technologies. The department offers an Associate Diploma in Cyber Security with a prescribed study plan.​

Associate Diploma in Cyber Security Degree

Upon the completion of the program requirements, Effat University grants students the degree of Associate Diploma in Cyber Security (ASc.CS).​

​Educational Objectives

Graduates from the Associate Diploma in Cyber Security (ASc.CS) are expected to attain the following Program Educational Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate a solid understanding of a variety of security approaches;
  2. Apply technical strategies, tools, and techniques to secure data and information for a customer or client;
  3. Apply principles of critical thinking to creatively and systematically solve the problems and meet the challenges of the ever-changing environments of cybersecurity;
  4. Utilize security techniques to improve the security level of computer-based systems;
  5. Demonstrate high ethical and responsibility values; and

Admission Requirements:​

High School diploma in Art with a score of 85% or Science with a score of 80% or more and the following standardized tests:

  • 525 TOEFL or 5.5 IELTS minimum.
  • 65% in Saudi Assessment Test (Qudurat).
  • 60% in the Placement Test for Mathematical Skills.​

  • Effat University reserves the right to withhold student services, including Blackboard and Banner access, from students who do not complete their due payment as per their payment plan or if their account status is delinquent.
  • There are no installments allowed for any of the PACE-HIT programs (less than 5 weeks).
  • In the event that the student chooses to pay in installments for the PACE-HIT programs (6 weeks and above).​
