Dr. Nermine Abdel Gelil M. Abdel Halim is an associate professor in the Architecture Department. She holds a PhD from Japan (recipient of Monbukagakusho Japanese Government Scholarship) and both an MSc and BSc from Cairo University, Egypt. Her work focuses on affordable, environmentally-friendly housing, earning her a patent and multiple prestigious awards. In 2023, she won 1st place in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects (Egypt) for her project “Green Rural House in New Valley Governorate" and 1st place for her project "Ecofordable House," in The Green Urbanism and Innovative Architecture at the 4th Cairo International Exhibition of Innovation; both fully constructed and funded by MSA University. The latter was shortlisted in THE MENA AWARDS for “Outstanding contribution to environmental leadership."
