At the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research, we strive to fulfil Effat University's vision to become one of the major institutions in innovation and academic research. In alignment with the university's vision and the Kingdom's 2030 vision, we also seek to find innovative solutions to societal problems. Our research drivers are energy and technology, socio-cultural studies, smart buildings in relation to architectural and urban design, and business innovation and entrepreneurship. Under these directions we distinctly focus on solid state lighting, solar energy, artificial intelligence, virtual reality applications, entrepreneurship ecosystems, environmental sustainability, women empowerment, e-Arabization, and many other areas. We also have agreements and partner with world leading universities, research institutions, funding governmental agencies, and the industrial sectors, such MIT, Western Sidney, Duke, Georgetown, Bocconi, KAUST, Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, KACST, IRITI, TAAQA (Zahid Group) and many others. We strive to instill the culture of research in both our graduate and undergraduate students and our motto is: “We innovate!"
