Project Summary

With a focus on the theories behind Virtual Reality, this project proposes novel algorithms of biometric identification. The main objectives include developing a statistical face modeling approach and studying the robustness of the model by analyzing the effect of variations in pose, facial expression and illumination on the recognition results. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using the state-of-the-art face recognition databases and is compared with the most well-known and latest face recognition methods. The multi-modal biometrics is also explored by developing an algebraic algorithm to solve the SSS problem of the CCA-based feature-level fusion.
